Infrastructure Migration Types

• Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V): Migrating workloads between hypervisors and virtualization platforms. Moving VMs from legacy VMware environments to updated vSphere versions, cross-platform migrations between Hyper-V and VMware, and cloud-to-cloud VM transitions.
• Physical-to-Virtual (P2V): Converting aging physical servers into virtual machines. We captured full system state from bare-metal hardware and deployed into virtualized infrastructure, extending the life of critical applications while reducing physical footprint and power costs.
• Physical-to-Physical (P2P): Hardware refresh migrations moving workloads from end-of-life servers to new physical platforms. Full OS, application, and data migration with hardware driver remediation and performance validation on the target systems.

Operational Migrations

Beyond infrastructure, TangledComputer specialized in the human side of IT transitions — what we called Operational Migrations. These were end-to-end migrations of users, processes, and workflows from legacy systems to greenfield environments:

• Greenfield Environment Transitions: Standing up entirely new IT environments and systematically migrating users, data, profiles, and business processes from legacy platforms. This included new domain builds, fresh application deployments, and clean-slate security postures.
• User Profile & Data Migration: Migrating user profiles, mailboxes, file shares, and application settings with full fidelity. Employees arrived to new environments with their tools, data, and workflows intact from day one.
• Application & Workflow Cutover: Coordinating phased migrations of line-of-business applications, ensuring dependent systems were transitioned in the correct order with validated connectivity and data integrity at each stage.
• Training & Change Management: Providing hands-on support during transitions so employees could adopt new systems with minimal disruption to daily operations.
